Ann has worked as a dental assistant for more than 40 years. She is a Licensed, NY State Certified Dental Assistant and has worked as a lead dental assistant and dental office manager. She joined the DATC teaching team in September 2017 because she feels teaching is the best way to give back to her profession.

Jacqueline | Director/Instructor

After 20 years of working as a dental assistant and dental office manager, Jacqueline now works as a dental office consultant. She joined DATC in 1990. Jacqueline always inspires her class. Her style of teaching reflects her calm demeanor. Her students always talk about how easy it is to learn from her.

Briggette | Director/Instructor

Bri has been in the profession for 30 +years. She works as a dental assistant supervisor and has a dental staffing agency. Bri has been a DATC teacher since 1980. She is a natural teacher and motivator. She always provides help and supports her students to promote their success as a dental assistant. Students appreciate her extra effort.

Fabiola | Instructor

After 8 years of working as a dental assistant, Fabiola went on to Dental Hygiene school. She currently works both as a dental assistant & dental hygienist. Fabiola became a DATCA instructor in 2020. Teaching has always been her passion. She is an excellent role model for DATC students & grads.

Deborah | Instructor

Deborah is a very successful DATC graduate, has been a dental assistant for 15 years and works in the dental clinic at a top hospital in Brooklyn, NY. She is also DANB Certified. Deborah continues to advance and promote in her dental assisting career. DATC is proud to welcome her back as a DATC Instructor. Deborah is a great role model and is anxious to guide her students to their own successes.

Lisa | Senior Director & Instructor

In 1985, Lisa met with N.Y. State District Dental Societies to develop a plan to address the shortage of both trained dental assistant and dental assistant programs. She developed the adult entry-level skills programs for dental assistant and has authored several books in the dental field. She has been teaching dental assisting for more than 45 years. She holds an AAS in Dental Assisting Technology and a BS in Dental Assisting Education.

Serving the Dental Profession Since 1985

In 1985 the Dental Auxiliary Training Center’s (DATC) Founder, Lisa Lyle, who has been teaching dental assistants since 1977 and the author of this article; recognized the need for trained dental assistants and joined forces with New York State District Dental Societies to create local adult evening programs for dental assistants.

The objective of DATC is to reach out to communities to find women and men who are interested in the profession of dental assisting and provide training locally in classes held at the District Dental Society Headquarters Buildings. DATC has been and continues to work with Second District, Ninth District, Nassau, Queens, and Suffolk County Dental Societies.
