Welcome

Dear Dental Assistant Student,

Thank you for your interest in DATC. I, along with our instructors, look forward to having you as a student in one of the six DATC program locations. The Fundamentals of Chairside Dental Assistant course is designed to give you the skills necessary to start your new career as a dental assistant, at a minimum cost of time and expense.

We offer the opportunity for you to learn from our staff of experienced and successful dental assistant instructors, many of whom are DATC graduates themselves. All our teachers are great role models for our students and are highly regarded by past DATC graduates. We all are committed to “giving back” to the profession of dental assisting and training the next generation of successful dental assistant professionals. We focus on the skills that dentists regard as “core necessities” for starting a job right away.

Job opportunities are abundant in the NY Metro Area, on Long Island, and Upstate NY. While no school can guarantee job placement, dentists look to DATC, (as they have since 1985) to provide new prospective employees for their practices. Upon completion of our program, you will be equipped to start your exciting new career with an opportunity for growth, success, advancement, and a lifelong professional as a dental assistant.

Quality Training For Long-Term Career Success

The Dental Auxiliary Training Center believes that quality training in dental assisting skills can lead to a successful and rewarding lifelong career. We have successfully trained thousands of dental assistants who have found our school and many of which have become employed in practices in the locations and surrounding areas where we offer our training programs. We appreciate any student referral that you may pass along to our school, as the more dental assistants we train, the more available to dentists in need.

At DATC, all programs are designed to help students learn the theory, skills, duties, and procedures needed for employment in a dental office or clinic, as well as to develop the habits of lifelong learning needed in today’s ever-changing job market.

Graduate Opportunities

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median dental assistant salary in New York is $44,910 a year and is rising because dental assistants are in such high demand.

The highest-earning dental assistants are earning as much as $60,550 a year. Once you become a dental assistant there are many different paths you can take to advance. After graduating from our program you will have the opportunity to earn advanced certifications while working in a dental office. Additional certifications provide a pathway to continue advancing your dental assisting career.
